I am a northerner through and through.
I play ice hockey, ski and work outdoors all year long.
The cold hardly bothers me anymore. I have all thermal gear and the best money can buy. Living in the cold is the norm. I do way better in snow and freezing temperatures than the heat. My girlfriend was from the south though. She begged and begged to have me meet the family. We ended up taking a trip to the south for a week to meet them all. I should have left in the winter season to meet them all. I went in the summer and it was the worst trip of my life. It was so uncomfortably hot in the south that I could not stand it. Thankfully there was AC in every restaurant, bar and house that I was in. But, cooling systems are not like the northern cold. It is fake cold that almost felt wet like. The humidity in the air quality was really what did me in. It felt like I was trekking through the jungle at all times. It was around 90 degrees and so wet. Why don’t they have a dehumidifier with the AC? How do they handle being so hot all the time? I asked about their winter temperatures and they were not even cold. People acting like 50 degree days were like -20 degree days. I know there is no way I could ever live in the south. I like the cold and maybe turning on my heater at night in the north.
