Those devices are wall mounted as well.
Nothing looks tackier in a business than bad HVAC placement. My grandparents take me out for lunch once a month. I let them pick the place and they usually pick a really good place. However, there is this one local restaurant that is a dump. The tables are always dirty, the rug is coming up and the food is not great. The biggest thing that bothers me is the HVAC system. The HVAC is definitely meant for a window. It is like for a motel room. You put the HVAC in the window and turn a few dials for heating or cooling. The device plugs in and requires no HVAC maintenance from a real HVAC company. The restaurant cut a hole in the wall and put the HVAC in it. They also used duct tape to ensure that the device could not fall out of it. The cord for the system is also tapped to the wall and stretches a few feet over to the nearest outlet. It looks like total dump. Why cut a hole in the wall instead of using the window? It would have been better to just set the HVAC on a table. I think the restaurant is trying to act like it is a ductless mini split. Those devices are wall mounted as well. They are drilled in and look very classy. This portable HVAC unit in a wall looks tacky, ugly and like dump. They were not fooling anybody on thinking it was ductless HVAC. The restaurant doesn’t even keep that HVAC component clean either.
