The jammed air filters

I was about to call my local HVAC company to ask for help on this.

Changing the air filter of your central heating and air conditioning system, or even your furnace can sometimes be a headache. I know that may not sound right to some people. You would think, what’s the big deal? Just pop open the hatch and change the air filter. Well, what happened to me not too long ago wasn’t that simple. When I went to change the air filter in my central heating and air conditioning system, the hatch wouldn’t open! It was jammed! It had seemed the last time I went to change my air filter, I had put it in at the wrong angle, and it totally jammed up the hatch to open to change the air filter now! These were really good HEPA air filters too! I had to go down to my basement and get my tools. I was using a screwdriver to try to pry the jammed up hatch opened. It took me about 20 minutes to finally get the thing unjammed! When I did, the next problem was that the air filter itself was jammed! It was like the problems were never ending. I was about to call my local HVAC company to ask for help on this. But then I thought, the air filter was going to get thrown out anyway, so I just took a knife and sliced that sucker up to get it out of the jammed position it was in. That in itself took me another almost 20 minutes. Finally, after I cleared out everything, I was able to put in the new HEPA air filter. I was extra careful this time!
