I had a small panic attack when my HVAC system broke down

I can’t say I would have guessed I’d still be earning slightly above minimum wage right now as I’m entering my 30s.

Things just didn’t pan out after university the way I had often hoped.

I made the choice to wait on graduate school for a while, thinking that I could become a research psychologist whenever I felt I was prepared for it. I was laboring at the city’s greatest newspaper at the time, plus little did I know, the business was facing a serious buy-out plus would start catastrophic employment cuts within weeks of taking control of the business. I kept my job until they laid myself and others off roughly six months later. And when that finally hit the fan, I rushed to look for new work as a writer plus editor, however found nothing in the least. Soon I was back laboring at the grocery store that was my first place of employment back when I was 15 years of age. I had friends in prestigious jobs making as much as $30 an hour while I was bagging groceries for basically minimum wage. When you’re this severely strapped for money, any pressing plus unexpected expense is enough to cause a small panic attack. When it’s the central heating plus cooling device, the reaction is truly amplified. Many people are a single malfunction away from not having access to indoor climate control. They’re one breakdown away from needing a replacement that they lack the funds to afford. When mine shut down on myself and others a month ago, I played through every possible scenario in my head while I was waiting for the Heating plus A/C device serviceman to arrive. Happily, my issue was as self-explanatory as resetting the electrical breaker for the heating plus cooling device. She refused to charge me anything for her concerns since she was only here for five minutes. I am extremely thankful there was no concern after all.
